This beautiful log home, located in northeastern Wisconsin, was featured in The Area Woman magazine in the August/September 2001 issue.  It took us from the fall of 1998 to the summer of 2000 to build this 9,000 square foot home.  The old log buildings built in the tradition of the great log lodges in the mountains of the West, the Adirondacks of the East and the glacial lakes of the far north is what the homeowners had in mind when designing their log home.  Working with Brooks Minde of Minde Log Construction Inc., Anderson & Hammack Construction worked with 12 inch red pine log harvested near the Canadian border and 36 inch (12 foot long!!) Douglas Fir logs from Montana.  As quoted from the article in The Area Woman magazine, “In this magnificent log home, modern advances have been gracefully combined with centuries-old traditions of building and fine workmanship.  As friends, family and other visitors enjoy this welcoming home, they are taking part in a legacy that surrounds all treasured lodges.  It’s a legacy of the warmth and beauty, of effort and pride, a legacy in log.”
